On this cold yet calm Wednesday I want to share with you the beautiful Batmitvah of a special girl, Samantha, whom I photographed this summer.
People usually refer to Batmitzvahs as a Birthday celebration. It’s a very special and beautiful time for a young girl, who, according to Jewish law, enters her adulthood at the age of twelve. Hence, Bat/Barmitzvah are very important in Jewish community and I enjoy capturing these moments for my clients. To me Batmitzvah is a celebration of love, family, youth and life. There are so many emotional moments that take place: getting ready in the morning, the love exchanged between the parents and the child, welcoming of friends and family, the blessing and cutting of Challah, candle lighting, dance with the father, to name just a few. I am so happy to have been able to take part of this celebration of life and youth.
Children are growing so fast. Not a while ago I did a small photo session of my God daughter Elizaveta when she was only 2 weeks old and now we did her very first smash the cake. I mean not now, it was like half a year ago, I’ve been a little busy with Selena so I am sharing photos just now :). We did a very small setup at my friend’s Katya house and were hoping that Lisa gonna be interested in the cake and yey!!! she really was. She was all around this cake, smashing it with her little hands, but first she tried to eat the candle. All I had to do is just click the button. I will cherish these memories for life: the laugh with my bestie Katya, Lisa from the top to bottom covered in cake, Katya’s mom trying to catch Lisa’s attention with different toys, Lisa’s small hands were trying to grab my camera. After we had such a good tea with leftovers from the cake.
Hope you will enjoy this “cake smash” photo session, I am happy to come to your home and photograph “cake smash” with your little ones. Have a lovely Monday.
It’s still such a nice weather outside, I know it’s not gonna last for long. We checked the weather for next weekend and it’s gonna snow. We try to enjoy every weekend at it’s fullest. Edward likes long walks and he takes Selena with him all the time. I am happy about that, not always I can join them, but I know how important is to reenergize for long working week. He bought this interesting watches from TomTom and now reports how long they have been walking, how many steps and how many kilometres, he also uses them for his swimming sessions.I think for the past year we implemented good healthy habits, such as enjoy outside as much as possible, drinking water in the mornings, trying to avoid junk food and we feel much better.
My Birthday is in one month and I am starting to put together important things what I want to achieve next year, how do I see myself and what I am going to do.
This year we went to Tree Farm in Markham to get our Christmas Tree! I have always wanted to do this and something about cutting a tree down seemed so magical and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be! It was SUCH a fun day and I hope we can have this be a new tradition of ours.
