Alyona and Manuel | Autumn wedding in the heart of Downtown
Fairmont hotel. Toronto, ON
The wedding of Alyona and Manuel was incredibly special to me. There is something magical about late November weddings — they feel intimate, cinematic, and full of emotion. Winter weddings are beautiful in their own way, but they also come with one big challenge: the weather. In Toronto especially, everything depends on finding the perfect location that creates warmth and atmosphere no matter what is happening outside.
For Alyona and Manuel, we chose the iconic Fairmont hotel in the heart of Toronto. The moment we walked in, it felt like the perfect match for them. The timeless architecture, warm golden lighting, elegant interiors, and cozy luxurious atmosphere created the feeling of stepping into another era. Photographing there was inspiring because every corner had character — grand hallways, dramatic windows, rich textures, and beautiful light that added depth and romance to every image. It is one of those places where you barely need to pose people; the environment naturally creates a story around them.
Outside, we only had about 15 minutes before the cold wind became too strong, but honestly, those moments became some of my favourites from the entire day. The wind brought movement, spontaneous laughter, close embraces, and real emotion. Sometimes imperfect weather creates the most unforgettable photographs.
The ceremony and reception took place at FairFood Co, a warm and welcoming restaurant filled with laughter, energy, and genuine joy throughout the evening. The entire wedding felt relaxed, emotional, and deeply personal — the kind of celebration where everyone is simply happy to be together.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the first dance. Alyona chose “Once Upon a December” from the Anastasia cartoon — one of my personal favourite pieces of music. Watching them dance to it felt like a real-life fairytale: elegant, nostalgic, romantic, and timeless.
Alyona and Manuel’s wedding reminded me why I love winter weddings so much. They may be unpredictable, but when everything comes together, they feel truly magical.
